It is that i have used netbsd 6 for so long
and it seems to me that the bigger netbsd gets there are more problems
i will see about upgrading

The message about glibc being too old is misleading. What it means is
that your OS is too old. pkgsrc only supports the last two major
releases, currently that's 9 and 10.
Is there a particular reason you cannot upgrade to a newer release?
