SSD errors

I’m running NetBSD 9.1 on an amd64k system. When I run it on a spinning disk I don’t see any errors, but when I install it on an SSD is see a lot of timeout and write errors. Initially I thought it was a failing SSD as the one I’d first used was quite old, so I bought a new Samsung 870. Right out of the box I’m seeing the same errors with it as well. Here’s a short example of the two types of errors I’m seeing:

Feb 26 09:50:59 amd64k /netbsd: [ 3.3392559] wd0: drive supports PIO mode 4, DMA mode 2, Ultra-DMA mode 6 (Ultra/133), WRITE DMA FUA, NCQ (32 tags)
Feb 26 09:50:59 amd64k /netbsd: [ 3.3392559] wd0(ahcisata0:0:0): using PIO mode 4, DMA mode 2, Ultra-DMA mode 6 (Ultra/133) (using DMA), NCQ (31 tags)

Feb 26 09:53:07 amd64k /netbsd: [ 39.4525563] wd0d: device timeout reading fsbn 19051424 of 19051424-19051455 (wd0 bn 19051424; cn 18900 tn 3 sn 35), xfer 38, retry 0
Feb 26 09:53:07 amd64k /netbsd: [ 39.4525563] wd0d: device timeout reading fsbn 76091008 of 76091008-76091039 (wd0 bn 76091008; cn 75487 tn 1 sn 49), xfer 168, retry 0
Feb 26 09:53:07 amd64k /netbsd: [ 40.0232381] wd0: soft error (corrected) xfer 170
Feb 26 09:53:07 amd64k /netbsd: [ 40.0232381] wd0: soft error (corrected) xfer d8

Is this a known issue with NetBSD running on SSD? Is there some parameter I need in a kernel build that’s not in GENERIC that addresses this?

Thanks,
-bob
