What is the status of autofs on NetBSD?
It seems, all the binaries and man-pages are in place, yet I can't find any mentioning of it e.g. in The NetBSD Guide. Are there any comprehensive manuals that describe how to set up autofs, maybe transition from amd? Or is the port so in line with other implementations that there is enough documentation "somewhere else"? If one manages to get it working, is it stable? Is it compatible with other autofs implementations? I.e. can I use map files distributed from other OSes via NIS or LDAP?
A few man-pages reference things that are not present on NetBSD (e.g. /etc/autofs/include_ldap is mentioned in auto_master(5)). All in all the inclusion of this product seems a bit rushed, at least by NetBSD standards.
