I'm really sorry for the delay. Partly because of work, partly because I
got lost between the messages and the suggested tests. Apparently
printers are still an unexplored world for me!

I noticed this, but it doesn't apply to my printer, which is:

Unfortunately this is beyond my capabilities. Also, I can't guess how to
detect the operations performed by the Windows driver to select the
emulation mode, as IIRC was suggested in a previous message. Maybe a
network sniffer would be needed?
