Try a 9.0_STABLE instead:
http://nycdn.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD-daily/netbsd-9/latest/
If you can reproduce it with that please file a PR with more details
(like: what was on the disk before, what options did you select,
what does the disk look like in dmesg, what partition sizes did you select,
how far did you get...)
Martin
Martin, thanks for the reply and suggestions. I went to the latest 9.0 Stable download and got the latest boot.iso. Then I went to /usr/pkgsrc/sysutils/dvd+rw-tools and made an install. I used growisofs to burn a dvd, here on this NetBSD install on the older 2014 HP Pavilion. Then I took the dvd to the newer homemade machine. I booted the dvd and started the install. I got to the selection of the drive to use and I selected ld0 which is my m2 ssd. I had created a gpt partition table with Gparted on a thumbdrive, but left the drive unallocated or unformatted. Next I picked the default partition, hit enter, it starts to work, but then the error message above appears and the install stops. The disk previously had this week's FreeBSD 13 current snapshot that I cleared with Gparted and placed a new gpt partition table on the ssd.
I can reload FreeBSD and send you a dmesg, but that may be tomorrow. Thanks,
Clay
