In any case, I've been up for nearly 48 hours with it being set to
'piixpm0' and haven't seen it slip or stall out yet. *fingers crossed*

Just over 5 days of uptime and some time today it started to slip
behind.

I'm now running with:

kern.timecounter.hardware=attimer0

And I'll see how this one goes.

That one also got me about 5 days, as did
kern.timecounter.hardware=ACPI-Safe

I think I've been through them all now. Having to reboot once a week to
keep the system running smoothly is getting old :(

ACPI-Safe, before it goes off the rails, seems to perform the best. No
hard numbers, just feels more responsive.

Once it does go off the rails, I've found nothing short of rebooting
that seems to be able to get the system back into a usable state.
