Unfortunately that didn't seem to make any difference. :/

It's really a mystery; I've used this Wyse on Sparcs running NetBSD w/o
any real fiddling, though I think those were designed to be serial console
friendly, automagically switching if one was connected to the serial port.

Also, I was looking through the mlist archives and saw mention that
/dev/console was suppose to be replaced by /dev/constty ?  Maybe that's
the issue?
