I had that with pkgsrc-2013Q3 but gnome worked ok after I 
refetched sources and built all packages again (about 2000)
from a clean start. I'm now on pkgsrc-2013Q4. I've no idea
if installed multimedia packages are working but I don't
mind also having installs of Linux and FreeBSD
