Everything in that dmesg looks fine, except there is no trace of the internal
CD/DVD drive.

Can you please file a PR with the dmesg, and maybe also find out, where the
drive is connected? Is it sata or parallel ata (there doesn't seem to be
any pata, so I guess the former). If sata, could you try swapping ports
with one of the disks, just for testing?
