Trying to run Mendeleydesktop (linux binary) without success

Hello! I'm trying to run Mendeleydesktop binary program on my NetBSD box,
without success. It is a citation program that, if run at the sime time of
LibreOffice of MS Office, allows you to directly insert bibliographic
citations on your text (it is really good btw).

1 (arthur@thunder) ~ (0)% uname -a
NetBSD thunder 5.99.60 NetBSD 5.99.60 (GENERIC) #6: Thu Feb 2 18:01:32
BRST 2012
arthur@thunder:/home/arthur/netbsd-drmgem/usr/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/GENERIC
i386

Program:
http://www.mendeley.com/download-mendeley-desktop/linux32/instructions/

2 (arthur@thunder) ~ (0)% pkg_info |grep suse
suse_expat-11.3 Linux compatibility package for expat
suse_libjpeg-11.3 Linux compatibility package for JPEG
suse_fontconfig-11.3nb1 Linux compatibility package for fontconfig
suse_libpng-11.3nb2 Linux compatibility package for PNG
suse_libtiff-11.3nb2 Linux compatibility package for TIFF

suse_openssl-11.3nb6 Linux compatibility package for OpenSSL
suse_krb5-11.3nb4 Linux compatibility package for kerberos libraries
suse_alsa-11.3nb3 Linux compatibility package for ALSA
suse_libcurl-11.3 Linux compatibility package for libcurl
suse_base-11.3nb8 Linux compatibility package
suse_freetype2-11.3nb4 Linux compatibility package for freetype-2.x
suse_x11-11.3 Linux compatibility package for X11
suse_locale-11.3 Linux compatibility package with locale files
suse_compat-11.3 Linux compatibility package with old shared libraries

3 (arthur@thunder) ~/downloads/mendeleydesktop-1.3.2-linux-i486 (0)%
./bin/mendeleydesktop
Using bundled Qt version 4.6 because no system Qt version was found
Running
/home/arthur/downloads/mendeleydesktop-1.3.2-linux-i486/bin/..//lib/mendeleydesktop/libexec/mendeleydesktop.i486

It presents me a grey screen with a progress circle and freezes. No error
message, no nothing. I have to close it and nothing else is printed.
Instead, the 'program' keeps running:

4 (arthur@thunder) ~ (1)% ps -A |grep mendeley
1720 ttyp0 I+ 0:00.12 /usr/bin/python ./bin/mendeleydesktop (python2.6)
3453 ttyp0 Ol+ 5:02.63
/home/arthur/downloads/mendeleydesktop-1.3.2-linux-i486/bin/..//lib/mendeleydesktop/libexec/mendeleydesktop.i486
(mendeleydesktop.)

I have to finish it with C-c at xterm.

Does anyone have any idea on how to make it work? It is fundamental for me
to keep working with NetBSD. It runs under Wine with Windows version, but I
can't run Microsoft Office under it, so no good.

Thank you in advance.
Arthur
