I know.

$ java -version
openjdk version "1.7.0-internal"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0-internal-pkgsrc_2011_08_18_15_01-b00)
OpenJDK Server VM (build 18.0-b04, mixed mode)

It's still failing, on both computers I've tried. The example I gave to Christos
uses tim perrett's code from his 'lift in action' book (found on github), sbt 
0.7.4
and scala 2.8.1; project 4 or 5 will just hang when trying to create the hdb.
