Device hot-swap with ahcisata(4)
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Is it possible to hot-swap devices connected via ahcisata(4)? After
inserting a disk and running "atactl atabus1 reset", the device is
detected:
ahcisata0 port 1: device present, speed: 3.0Gb/s
... but no 'wd' device attaches, so it isn't visible.
The controller is:
ahcisata0 at pci0 dev 17 function 0: ATI Technologies SB700/SB800 SATA
Controller (AHCI mode)
ahcisata0: interrupting at ioapic0 pin 19
ahcisata0: AHCI revision 1.2, 4 ports, 32 command slots, features
0xf722e000
I've previously used this with FreeBSD, and hot-swap works.
Thanks,
River.
