riz@ sent me a new kernel which allowed me to connect to /dev/ttyU0
with cu and send AT commands.  ATDT #777 gave a connected but I really
don't even know where to start with trying a ppp connection.

If anyone has hints for that I would appreciate it so I can do a
better test.  I also think that the patches will be committed shortly.
