I have a basic Dell R610 plus an extra dual-port NIC. I think it has
the more basic controller; we got only one 80GB disk and weren't trying
to have spiffy RAID.
It seems to have the following for controller
mpt0 at pci5 dev 0 function 0: vendor 0x1000 product 0x0058
mpt0: interrupting at ioapic0 pin 16
mpt0: Phy 0: Link Rate 3.0 Gbps
scsibus0 at mpt0: 112 targets, 8 luns per target
scsibus0: waiting 2 seconds for devices to settle...
sd0 at scsibus0 target 0 lun 0: <ATA, FUJITSU MHZ2080B, 8A22> disk fixed
sd0: 76319 MB, 76320 cyl, 16 head, 127 sec, 512 bytes/sect x 156301488 sectors
probe(mpt0:0:8:0): generic HBA error
which worked just fine for installation and I can dd from it at 63 MB/s.
(It's just a basic notebook drive in a removable carrier.)
pci.ids says
0058 SAS1068E PCI-Express Fusion-MPT SAS
1000 3140 SAS3081E-R 8-Port SAS/SATA Host Bus Adapter
1028 021d SAS 6/iR Integrated Workstations RAID Controller
1028 1f0e SAS 6/iR Adapter RAID Controller
1028 1f0f SAS 6/iR Integrated Blades RAID Controller
1028 1f10 SAS 6/iR Integrated RAID Controller
103c 3229 SC44Ge Host Bus Adapter
So this doesn't really help with your H200/H700 question I'm afraid.
