postfix smtp + sasl

I'm trying to setup an authenticated relayhost with the
netbsd-included postfix.  The output of postconf -A is blank, so does
that mean postfix's smtp doesn't support any authenticated (over ssl,
if it matters) client-side email?

Is there a way to add this feature without adding postfix from pkgsrc?
 I'm tight on disk space.
