yes, I've checked that my dongle sees my ssid,. The ssid as well as
the password have been put on a USB
memorystick, and they were copied to as well µ-soft Window$ as NetBSD,
so I'm certain that they are
OK (incl upper-loer case)..

 µ-soft Window$ uses other hardware, however and connects itself.

The hardware documentation of my xmitter says, it uses WPA2.  I have
to use that one, as it is delivered as a
part of the connetion delivered by my internet provider.  I have no
possibility to change anything in his system.

I cannot even make a test with WEP in stead of WPA.

I fear, that I need firmware fore my two dongles.  On a Linux site, I
have found some which is not in NetBSD5.0.1 /libdata,
but it does not seem to cover my two dongles.
