Using pad(4) to record audio

        Hello,

I would like to use pad(4) to record audio produced by an application
(Firefox and "ns-flash" in case in matters). As a test run I've
played an MP3 files using "mpg123" and saved the data produced by
pad(4) like this:

        cat </dev/pad0 >sound.dat

According to the manual page "sound.dat" should contain PCM data.
But at which sample rate? And how can I convert that file into
another format. I guess "sox" can do but I don't know the options
to get it to do the right thing(TM).

        Kind regards
