Problems with MesaLib

I was recently doing a replacement of some older packages from source,  
when at some point I ran into an error.  At level or loop 5 of gmake  
it said that it did not recognize the target.  I'm using pkgsrc with a  
4.0 kernel.  I've deleting the package with "pkg_delete" and then  
tried installing again, but it hits the same error.  I've tried  
"upgrade", but no difference.  Any ideas?
