groff and ps/html output
Is groff supposed to be able to render man pages as html or ps correctly
as long as man(1) does the job on a terminal?
I do
$ groff -T html /usr/pkg/man/man3/readline.3
and get
http://www.schemamania.org/readline.3.html
which does not look at all like "man 3 readline" as far as paragraphing
goes. Postscript (-T ps) has the same problem.
If I'm not missing an option, I don't know whether to recode the man page
or if it's not expected to work. If it should work, will it be happy with
old-fashioned pre-mdoc markup, or, OTOH is mdoc sufficiently universal
that maybe the readline folks would accept it?
I'm using
$ pkg_info | grep -E 'readline|ghostscript'
readline-5.0 GNU library that can recall and edit previous input
ghostscript-fonts-6.0 Postscript fonts for Aladdin Ghostscript
ghostscript-gnu-7.07 GNU Postscript interpreter
Not sure what to do. Thanks.
