I agree!

  $ fgrep hostname /etc/rc.conf
  hostname="sunny.rz1.convenimus.net"
  $ hostname
  sunny

There is a dhcp-Server configured. But that shouldn't make a difference, 
especially since "host ip-address" returns the right value (FQDN).
