NetBSD and hostname

Hi there people!

I'm a little confused about a difference between Net- and FreeBSD (both 
sparc64) that I did not expect.

In the rc.conf I added this line:
hostname="name.foo.bar"

When I enter hostname in the shell, I only get back "name", not the 
FQDN. With FreeBSD this was different.

This would normally not bother me one bit, but I am having a few 
problems with Postfix and I am guessing that these arise from the fact 
that gethostname() doesn't return the FQDN.

Did I mess up here somewhere or am I just not thinking straight?
