Actually the file wasn't there!
And that was the clue - a simple hg clone of xsrc checkedout xorg and not trunk.
Is there a way to fixate a default branch on clone on anonhg so this doens't happen to others?

Yes, lots. 24j's make the build go a bit quicker.
