Aah! ssh is stuffing errno in _many_ places, so it's definitely possible.
See, for example:

src/crypto/external/bsd/openssh/dist/sshbuf-misc.c:

```

300                 return SSH_ERR_SYSTEM_ERROR;
```

And, that's on a _read_ operation. :(
