Intel Iris Query
I'm wondering about the state of Intel Iris support. I've got a Dell
Latitude 7420 with a Tiger Lake i5. But the i915 driver doesn't seem
to like it. The lack of acceleration is a little annoying; sometimes
it would be nice if the video were a little smoother and more
performant. But the big issue is that I can't seem to use any
external video, such as the HDMI port. This prevents me from using
this machine in the classroom where I need to drive the projectors and
external monitors.
Is this something that should work, but I'm doing something wrong?
Is this something that's being worked on? Is this something I should
try to take a swing at myself with my nearly empty jar of round tuits?
I made sure to grab the latest build of 9.99.96 (kernel, modules,
gpufw, xbase, xcomp, xetc, xfont, and xserver) so I wouldn't be asking
about something that's already been fixed.
Thanks in advance,
BLS
