usb handling broken with -current
For about the last week I have started seeing usb configuration
errors when various usb devices are plugged in. I went back to a
Jul 7 kernel and all works great there but not sure when the problems
started.
With -current as of Jul 29, all usb devices I tried produce:
Jul 29 12:04:49 tiamat /netbsd: [ 96199.2264399] uhub3: autoconfiguration error: device problem, disabling port 1
Jul 29 12:04:59 tiamat /netbsd: [ 96208.8263223] uhub3: autoconfiguration error: device problem, disabling port 2
Even on reboot.
I will say that up until the latest problems, for about 3 months,
usb device handling has been the best it has ever been in my
experience. In particular, it didn't matter with any usb device
whether it was plugged straight into a usb port or if it went
through a hub. For years some devices had to be plugged into a
usb hub and others had to plugged in directly.
Is this a transitional development or did something get broken? I
don't see any new changes today.
Thanks
