Not all older intel GPUs need this.  In my case, amd64 hosts with

  82G41
  82Q45
  82946GZ

video are broken with SNA and the 2019 intel Xorg driver but a couple
of i386 hosts with i82915 video work fine with SNA.  As such, they also
don't require the TearFree option, to save a performance penalty.

(When I was building the 2014 intel Xorg driver, they all worked fine
with SNA, but seemed to have stability issues when certain X clients
ran.)

I will be trying the patch soon-ish.
