I still have local patches to drop support for k&r/c89 unices from circa 1992 and in general refresh the code. I wanted to drop bourne build variation (/bin/sh) from ksh too as this code is dead, we already ship ash for this. The domain for retro-unices is already covered by mksh. Last time I discussed it with mirbsd korn shell upstream, they noted that mksh is developed for gcc1-gcc3.
