Hi guys. I started having the same problems, I think, just a few days ago.
amd64 / 7.99.39 / and kernel about 3 days old(~30.09) - with that:

However, today's fresh kernel seems to be more stable...
(didn't have any troubles yet with it).
Now I'm rebuilding system and will see how it behaves in some of these days...
(Also I'd like to switch to new xorg, and play a little with it... but
sure it will work well with my "new" videocard!)))
