The patch applied cleanly to v1.58.  Tested with wscons terminals and
serial VT220 terminal using "vt100" in "/etc/ttys".  I see no extraneous
printable output.

Switching my VT220 terminal to "Display Controls" mode reveals that
after the clear-screen control sequence, getty now sends a number of
NUL bytes equal to the delay value.
