each time. Not sure why "wd8" seems to have such high transfer, unless
these are average statistics (I 'dd'-ed the whole disk to /dev/null as
a sanity check before attempting reconstruction).
Running 'iostat -x -w3' shows all but the system disk idle after the
initial display. Forcing activity (again with 'ls -R') yields typical
output like:
