I just built netbsd-5 from yesterday, and booted a kernel, replacing one From 9/10 or so. This is an i386, 5 or so year old machine that's a pretty unremarkable intel 845 motherboard and has been fine. cpu0 at mainbus0 apid 0: Intel 686-class, 2800MHz, id 0xf29 acpi0 at mainbus0: Intel ACPICA 20080321 acpi0: X/RSDT: OemId <INTEL ,D845GBV2,20030226>, AslId <MSFT,00000097> acpi0: SCI interrupting at int 9 acpi0: fixed-feature power button present At boot, I got: total memory = 2083 MB avail memory = 1991 MB uvm_fault(hex, hex, 2) -> 0xe fatal page fault in supervisor mode .... memcpy+0x14: repe movsl (%esi),% [that's all that was on the screen] no ps/2 kbd and the usb kbd didn't work. I needed this machine to function immediately so I've booted an earlier kernel. I'll look up the eip when I have a chance, but I'm curious if anyone else has seen this.
