I tried a kernel from May, 1st, and one from a few hours ago. In
May, there was no PAE support yet, and I wasn't able to trigger
the crash (I just tried grepping in a loop while bulk building).
The current kernel also didn't crash. Could your recent change to
layered fs's have helped?
