I also see problems with ucom@uftdi, on a NetBSD 4.0 system:
Whenever a system hung up on the serial line reboots (sends a break? I 
don't know) I cannot connect to the tty device any longer, but get an 
error. Re-plugging the USB dongle helps to get it back working.
