Even Microsoft is telling Windows users to not just unplug a USB stick
you are currently writing to. As long as you write data back to
removable media soon enough (e.g. sync mounts with low flush timeout for
data), it is good enough. Users are normally pretty good to understand
that the above is a bad idea.
