Re: Rust on NetBSD 9
Hi,
it appears that a new error has surfaced in the latest bulk build
for NetBSD/i386 9.0, ref.
https://releng.netbsd.org/pkgreports/shadow/HEAD/NetBSD-9.0-i386/20250623.1755/meta/report.html
The error is
Compiling core v0.0.0 (/pbulk/work/lang/rust/work/rustc-1.86.0-src/library/core)
rustc exited with signal: 8 (SIGFPE) (core dumped)
error: could not compile `core` (lib)
In my own testing I have never seen this particular error.
The timestamp above is also well past the point where the fix for
using pkgsrc LLVM 19 with lang/rust on 9.x on i386 was committed
(which happened around midday the 22nd).
Then again, my 9.x i386 system runs 9.4 at the moment, if that
makes any difference. My testing scoreboard for 1.86.0 on 9.x
i386 says
x NetBSD 9 i386 / llvm-19 native-build
x NetBSD 9 i386 / llvm-19 dua-cli
x NetBSD 9 i386 / llvm-19 dua-cli run
x NetBSD 9 i386 / llvm-18 native-build
x NetBSD 9 i386 / llvm-18 dua-cli
x NetBSD 9 i386 / llvm-18 dua-cli run
x NetBSD 9 i386 / llvm-18 librsvg
and 'x' is "success", so I don't really have any good ideas what
the above might be about. Anyone else seeing the above error?
Regards,
- Håvard
