App bundles don't necessarily lose their command-line functionality,
though sometimes a little extra is needed to keep it accessible.

The trick is to also make sure a file with appropriate content is
created in /etc/paths.d/ (and possibly /etc/manpaths.d), i.e. a line
pointing to the path within /Applications/APP.app where the command-line
parts are installed.

See path_helper(8).
