Re: pkgsrc name collisions

A few unrelated comments:

  - removing something because of a collision isn't really ok. I know
you didn't say that. It's fair to pay attention and ask "should X
be removed" because of noticing it after finding a name collision.

  - I am meh on worrying about foo/baz and bar/baz when PKGNAME differs.

  - For anything that is a filename (as opposed to contents) things
differing in case only count as a collision; pkgsrc runs on
case-preserving filesystems such as most macOS filesystems. (I
consider the existence of such filesystems to be a bug, that's the
world in which we live in....)

  - Regarding mbone/mdp, I have written to someone I know at NRL who was
likely involved. While "the MBONE" is no more, mbone as a category
is somewhat "programs useful in an environment with multicast".
However, many of them are probably unmaintained and no longer
    functional.
