This looks like an individual submission, rather than a working group
item.

I'd like to understand if this is actually headed for standards track,
and if the proposed patches change behavior to be contrary to standards.
Generally NetBSD tries to follow standards first, and best practices
second, and it's of course hard when those conflict.


Until we really understand the standardization status, I don't think we
should commit any changes.
