Yeah. That rings bells for me. I think with MSCP I noticed failures with more than 64MB. I think it is even visible using simh.
How do you reproduce that?

I was sure I saw it before, but when I tried now, it was fine...

And things are a bit weird still, but not the way I remembered it from the past.

With a simh VAX-8650 with 256 megs, it works fine.
However, with 128 megs, it crashes during startup.
With 64 megs, it works fine.


And the only difference in my config for simh is the amount of memory. Everything else identical, using the same disks, and so on.
