that is a hint indeed. I took the 8.2 generic kernel, unzipped an booted
it directly on old 6 userland and it boots.
Proof below!

What now?

Do we have "install kernels" to boot like OpenBSD? That would help
getting into the installer without miniroot or CD issues.

This sounds scary though, if then the bootloader gets updated, I won't
boot at all :-P

PS: in case, is jumping from 6.x to 8.x supported by an upgrade or is
6->7->8 the only safe way?
