Yes.  It's not lazy.  But if gcc uses FPU aggressively for integer
code it might make sense to be eager.
This is exactly why gcc shouldn't use the FPU for integer division. And is what Linux.2.6.29 and gcc-4.3.3 do for SH-4A today.
