Re: Nintendo WII: is wifi supported?

Hi Noe --

I haven't experienced this issue. I am using a urtwn(4) based adapter, but it is plugged in indirectly via a USB 2.0 hub. Can you try a hub, and/or a different adapter, to see if the problem goes away?

Take care,
Jared

Thanks a lot Jared.

I am now using a USB Wi-Fi adapter (TL-WN823N v3) and it works.
However, the connection is lost occasionally, especially when
transferring large files. I need to restart wpa_supplicant manually to
re-connect. The disconnections happen much more frequently in one of
the USB ports. Is this a known problem?

Thanks again,
Noe.

Hi Noe --

The onboard Wi-Fi adapter is not supported. Your options for networking
are to use a supported USB Wi-Fi adapter, USB ethernet adapter, or setup a
Bluetooth PAN using the built-in Bluetooth adapter.

Take care,

Hi all,

I am successfully running NetBSD 10.99.12 on a Nintendo Wii (NetBSD/evbppc).
I would like to enable the wifi, but ifconfig -a only shows the
loopback interface and in the output of dmesg I cannot identify
anything relevant.

Is the Wii's wifi supported by NetBSD? If it is, how can I configure it?

Thanks in advance.
