Yes,

The U-boot console pings once the dhcp is invoked there.  Works fine!
I hadn't considered that, as I am not using the network to boot my
kernel as many of the users setting up on the machine are.

Kernel wise, it is just default OCTEON.

Even so, I have to jigger around the inet address on the interface and
the route, interspaced with some device down and ups... it starts to
work.

Eh.. I'll check my configs again, just to be certain. Wasn't running
npf st all, yet, just trying to test the newer kernel on another disk
and noticed the network oddness that I'd read another or two may be
having.

Wonder how much difficulty it'd add to people to try and get something
like invisible.ca's arm images for the few MIPS systems that could use
them.
