Re: Installer Image file format for current

chris@YeOldeComputer% file NetBSD-9.99.80-macppc.iso
NetBSD-9.99.80-macppc.iso: ISO 9660 CD-ROM filesystem data ’NETBSD_99980'

vs.
chris@YeOldeComputer% file NetBSD-9.0-macppc.iso
NetBSD-9.0-macppc.iso: DOS/MBR boot sector

Does that auto build generate a bootable image normally or do I need to look at alternative ways of booting?

Hi Chris,

The short answer is that only formal releases have hybrid bootable
images. There was a PR about this a while ago (port-macppc/54537), and
I'd added some details in one spot in the installation instructions:

http://cvsweb.netbsd.org/bsdweb.cgi/src/distrib/notes/macppc/install.diff?r1=1.40&r2=1.41&only_with_tag=MAIN&f=h

It may be these details are best added in more places.

Regards,

Dave
