Re: G4 (quicksilver?) PSU dying

I have an old G4 with a working power supply. The board doesn't work so the power supply hasn't been used for years. The computer isn't dual to me knowledge so it may not work. Let me know if you are interested.

it seems the power supply in my dual G4 mac is dying (OF calls it

Sure sounds like a Quicksilver.

Replacement PSUs seem to be unavailable, but several pages I found claim
that I should be able to connect a standard ATX PSU with small modifications.

One minor thing is unclear though: it seems the quicksilver has a +28V supply
(something about ADC graphics or displays) - and I am not sure the machine
would work without that (and no chance to get that from a stock ATX PSU).
IIRC that's for the extra connector in front of the AGP slot, for
monitor power via ADC. I doubt it's being used for anything else.

have fun
