I have a slightly newer variant of that dual G4, and I've started seeing
what could be related behaviour. Once powered down, it will not power up
again without my pulling and replacing the cable from the machine's
power receptacle. It also makes an audible ticking sound when plugged
in. I haven't looked any further into this.
