NetBSD 5 panics from day 1 on my Quadra 630, at startup, at the moment tty's are set, with an address error trap. My last atempt is with GENERIC 5.0.1. If this is helpful, I can try an other kernel or give some details on the crash.
I narrowed things down a bit and posted a follow-up. This is a Quadra 630, too, and while I've confirmed that any netbsd-5 kernel seems to crash, current does not.
Perhaps you, too, could try a current kernel, and at some point perhaps we can figure out what's been fixed for everyone else's benefit.
