Call for tests: DRM fixes for upcoming NetBSD 10.1
Hi,
We will release NetBSD 10.1 soon. Usually, non-trivial pullups
should be avoided just before release, but we've exceptionally
pulled up DRM changes recently:
https://releng.netbsd.org/cgi-bin/req-10.cgi?show=928
We expect that some DRM-related problems for 10.0 have been fixed.
On the other hand, we concern potential regressions caused by the
pullup. It would really be appreciated if you can test 10.0_STABLE
during **this weekend**. If it doesn't work well (compared with
10.0 or -current), something goes wrong.
If you have GPU supported by our DRM-based drivers, and working
10.0 (or 10.0_STABLE) userland, please try new kernel
(**don't forget to backup your original kernel**):
- amd64:
https://nycdn.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD-daily/netbsd-10/202410041820Z/amd64/binary/sets/kern-GENERIC.tar.xz
- evbarm64:
https://nycdn.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD-daily/netbsd-10/202410041820Z/evbarm-aarch64/binary/sets/kern-GENERIC64.tar.xz
- i386:
https://nycdn.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD-daily/netbsd-10/202410041820Z/i386/binary/sets/kern-GENERIC.tgz
If kernel boots successfully, please startx(1) to see log for
GPU-accelerated driver in /var/run/Xorg.0.log.
Note that -current userland **do not** work on netbsd-10 kernel.
Thanks!
