All I see in the BIOS is:

Device Config. = Setup by OS
USB KB/Mouse Legacy Emulation = Enabled
  USB-FDD Legacy Emulation = Enabled

none of which seems relevant.

Just tried NetBSD-7.1/i386 (GENERIC.201703111743Z), and it booted

# dmesg | grep ehci
ehci0 at pci0 dev 29 function 7: vendor 0x8086 product 0x24cd (rev. 0x03)
ehci0: can't map memory space

which presumably means that it just bailed out more cleanly (ah, but panics
on reboot in ehci_detach).

I'll send you the (large) dmesg output from a boot without the KASSERTs
(as per Jaromir's suggestion) - what are we looking for?

Thanks,

Patrick
