I tried a 5.99.46 GENERIC amd64 kernel from nyftp.netbsd.org today,
which improved the situation to the point were it does not even get
to single user mode because the 32-bit init dies...
I tried loading the exec_elf32 and compat_netbsd32 modules to be
sure, but to no avail. If I load them and miniroot.kmod, and mount
the partition with the 32-bit userland from within the miniroot
environment, I still can't run any 32-bit binaries (did not try
statically linked ones, though).
I have not tried a custom kernel yet, because the necessary modules
seem to be built into GENERIC, anyway.
